3D Printed Steel Bridge to be Constructed in Amsterdam

One of the most amazing advancement in today’s technological ages is the introduction of 3D printing, which according to some experts has endless possibilities. Although we have yet to see applications in everyday use but that might change with the creation of a 3D-printed steel bridge in Amsterdam.

According Mashable, the city is working with Dutch robot company MX3D and engineering software company Autodesk to create a 3D-printed bridge which will showcased how advanced their technology right now. Although the exact location of the 3D-printed bridge is not yet revealed to the media, various technology sites already reported the highly anticipated construction.

The company MX3D is best known for 3D printing complex metal shapes in midair without any support structures. The bridge is slated to be completed in 2017.

FastCompany also reported that the bridge will be about 24 feet in length.
