Korean Import Jiwan Kim Impresses Ginebra Coach Frankie Lim on PBA Debut

During the PBA debut of Korean import Jiwan Kim, Ginebra San Miguel head coach Frankie Lim and his teammates were impressed with his basketball skills and his ability to adjust with the Ginebra style of play despite the fact that he just arrived a few days ago before the Gin Kings game.

Although the 25-year-old Korean basketball star did not shoot well during the game against GlobalPort Batang Pier but his presence was more than enough to helped Ginebra in defeating the Batang Pier on Wednesday night.

Jiwan Kim only managed to contribute with just 11 points, five rebounds and three assists to help the Kings on their overtime victory against the Terrence Romeo-led GlobalPort.

Ginebra head coach Frankie Lim engaged the Korean star for almost 35 minutes which was way better in terms of playing time compared to the previous Asian import of Ginebra, Sanchir Tungalag. According to Lim, the arrival of Jiwan King was a big help to the struggling Ginebra team.

The Asian import of Ginebra, Jiwan Kim just arrived on Monday but showed he was ready to suit up and make his presence felt right away for Ginebra. The hero during the game against Globalport, Japeth Aguilar also noted that like most Korean players, Kim is known for his outside shooting and has a great basketball IQ.

Jiwan Kim also showed much appreciation for the Ginebra fans, considered as the largest in terms of fan base, whom he said played a big role for him to be able to play the way he played in his first game in the Philippines.
