It is something like you don’t usually see inside the playing court.

Though Rico Maierhoffer of Barako Bulls found a good use for his shoe, this did not stop the PBA to summon the player.

In an attempt for a shot by San Miguel Beer’s Gabbu Espinas, Maierhoffer thwart it using his shoe.

PBA commissioner Chito Salud said the “shoe-palpal” moment has definitely caught the world’s attention.

PBA has summoned the Barako Bull player to explain his side after the block attempt midway in the second quarter using his shoe Wednesday.

The summoned player is expected to appear before Salud on Friday.

PBA officials believe that the referees attending the first game between San Miguel and Barako could have raised Technical foul for Maierhofer.

Thus it has exposed a flaw in the PBA rule book as there are no existing provisions that cover the use of a foreign object, in the peculiar case, a shoe.
