Following the disapproval of Sen. Grace Poe to run with Vice President Jejomar Binay in the 2016 presidential elections, Binay seems to found another possible running mate.
In an interview Thursday, Binay said he is considering Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte as running mate.
Binay said Duterte is “qualified” enough to be the vice-presidential bet of his party United Nationalist Alliance.
“[Duterte is] being considered. Siguro naman hindi magagalit si Mayor Duterte. Qualified ‘yun, successful mayor ‘yan,” Binay said.
“Sabi ko nga, there was a time na-feature pa kaming tatlo, successful mayors—ako, si Lito Atienza at saka si Mayor Duterte,” he added.
Amid facing corruption allegations, the vice president is firm with his decision in running in 2016.
