PASAY City—A doctor is facing a formal complaint following the mother’s claim that she placed a sanitary napkin while her daughter is giving birth Monday.
Elsa Abello, 33, said her pregnant teen daughter was crying and shouting in pain while delivering the baby at Pasay City General Hospital when the attending physician placed the napkin inside her mouth.
The mother identified the doctor as “Dra. Liza.”
Abello also added that her daughter experienced verbal abuse from the doctors of the said hospital while giving birth.
Upon handing in formal complaints at the Philippine Medical Association and the Profession regulation Commission, Abello is also eyeing to file a case against the doctor and the management of the hospital.
The management supposedly violated Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
