Offer will close if Gerardo Limlingan, VP Binay’s alleged finance officer, continues to hide.
This was assured by Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano after offering protection to Limlingan.
Limlingan’s bank accounts were among those frozen in connection with a corruption probe involving the Vice President.
If he surfaces, Limlingan can be turned into a state witness.
Cayetano told reporters Thursday that the country has made witnesses out of individuals involved in anomalies they exposed, like Jun Lozada of the NBN-ZTE deal and Benhur Luy of the pork barrel scam.
“We will offer protection kung under threat sila kasi magiging key witnesses ito,” Cayetano said of Limlingan and other names implicated in the corruption allegations against Binay.
“The offer is there. We have to solve corruption in our country,” he added.
Earlier, the Blue Ribbon committee ordered the Senate sergeant-at-arms to get hold of Limlingan and other individuals for snubbing a subcommittee’s probe into the VP, but none of them has been found.
With this, Cayetano believes that the Binays are hiding the involved individuals
Amid offer for Limlingan, however, the Senator said that “the door is closing” as he continues to hide.
