Metro Manila & Luzon to Feel the Wrath of Bagyong Dodong on Sunday

The National Capital Region or the Metro Manila areas and nearby provinces in Luzon will feel the wrath of Bagyong Dodong on Sunday, May 10, 2015 as the newest tropical disturbance threatens to bring in heavy to intense rainfall in the affected areas according to the country’s weather bureau, PAGASA.

PAGASA noted that Bagyong Dodong (international name Noul), is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. The typhoon is expected to hit the Isabela-Cagayan provinces on the eastern seaboard in the next few hours.

Storm Warning Signal No. 1 was already raised over Catanduanes and Northern Samar, based upon the 10:00 PM weather bulletin of PAGASA. Aside from the two provinces, Signal No. 1 was also raised in the provinces of Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.

The Metro Manila area is expected to feel the typhoon’s winds and rain starting on Saturday as PAGASA also expects that Bagyong Dodong will intensify before it will make a landfall.

Bagyong Dodong (Noul) is the fourth typhoon to hit the country ths year, the Philippines has an average of 20 typhoons annually with super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) the most destructive in recent years, that leaves more than 8,000 people dead or injured in 2013.
