Philippine Volleyball Team Defeated by Japan National (Asian U-23)

The Philippine national womens voĺleyball U-23 team was defeated by the Japanese U-23 team. The game ended with the final score at 25-12, 25-18, 25-15, on Monday in the 2015 Rebisco Asian Under-23 Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Philsports Arena.

The Filipinos were totally outclassed by the the taller Japanese in the first two sets and tried to make a brave stand in the third set of the game. The Filipina spikers made several eŕrors that were capitalized by the Japanese.

The Philippine team slipped to a 0-2 (win-loss) mark in the second round, where results of matches from teams at the end of the preliminaries were taken out of the equation in order to determine the seeds for the quarterfinals.

The Philippines is now in danger of falling to the bottom two spots in Pool E which will be against the top two squads in Pool F, which could be either China, Thailand, or Korea.

Jaja Santiago pumped life into the Philippine squad after helping the team grab an 8-5 in the third set. But Japan was just too strong, taking eight of the next nine points to regain control.
