Joseph Marco Shares Another Side, Not Leaving Acting

First discovered through his acting potential, Joseph Marco is reinventing himself to offer fans a different side of him.

Now a member of the boy group ‘Harana’, Marco clarifies that he is not intimidated by his fellow Harana members Marlo Mortel, Bryan Santos, at Michael Pangilinan.

‘Harana’ launched recently at ASAP 20 their first album under Star Music.

During the interview at the press conference for the OPM Fresh compilation album, the actor now singer shared that he started singing and playing guitar way back then even telling that he was the lead guitarist in a high school band before he was discovered that he can actually sing.

“Pero hindi pa talaga ganu’n kaplakado yung boses ko, kasi siyempre, wala pa talaga akong experiences or anything, but do’n ko na-feel sa sarili ko na kaya ko palang kumanta. And then, I started singing lalo na nung mag-start akong mag-artista. Na-try kong mag-mall show tapos minus one yung gamit,” he also shared.

Marco did not expect that he could become part of a singing boy band but was thankful for the opportunity.

“Nu’ng dumating ‘tong opportunity na to out of nowhere, nagulat talaga ako. Nu’ng nabasa ko yung text na bubuo kami ng boy band parang ‘may nagbo-boy band pa ba ngayon dito sa Philippines’ di ba, parang ang labo? Good thing I accepted ito kasi sobrang nag-i-enjoy ako ngayon, saka somehow, talagang na-develop ko yung singing skills ko,” he said.

The actor was thankful of having Pangilinan and Mortel in the group whom he considers as good singers.

When asked if he is intyimidated with the two, the actor replied, “I’m really thankful na meron talagang magaling na dalawang singer sa grupo namin, saka may experience na sa banda namin, kasi, na-challenge ako, eh. Parang I have to prove something, na kaya ako nandito, I have to prove something, so, in a way, hindi ako na-insecure o na-intimidate.

Thus Marco takes it as a challenge that he has to go with the singers.

How about acting? The actor turns singers still does acting, indeed he is part fo the upcoming TV remake of Pasion de Amor.

“Ay hindi, yung acting kasi yon ang bread and butter ko talaga. So, do’n talaga ako naka-focus. Kumbaga yung singing, parang bonus lang, pero dahil nga ngayon I’m doing it professionally kaya binibigyan ko na rin siya ng focus. Pero yung main focus ko pa rin is nasa acting talaga,” he explained.
