The country’s largest network ABS-CBN announced on Saturday that the highly anticipated “Thanksgiving Concert” for the hit teleserye “Forevermore” has been cancelled due to environmental concerns. Forevermore

Top-rating Kapamilya series was scheduled to hold a thanksgiving concert this coming May 10, 2015 at Sitio Pungayan in Santo Tomas, Benguet which became a major tourist attraction after it was featured as “La Presa,” the place located near the summit of Mount Cabuyao in Tuba, Benguet.

The Kapamilya concert dubbed #MayForeer” was supposed to held at Sitio Pungayan also known as the fictional Sitio La Presa, a strawberry farm with garden terraces where lead characters Xander (Enrique Gil) and Agnes (Liza Soberano) fall in love.

Since the airing of the top-rating series, Forevermore, the once lowly village has become a tourist phenomenom of sorts transforming local business into lucrative income-earners.

Despite the achievement brought in by the top-rating series, a petition posted by a group called One Baguio cited that Sitio Pungayan is part of a critical watershed which is important source of potable water for residents and visitors of Baguio City ang neighboring areas.

There is no official statement yet, from ABS-CBN, whether the decision to postpone the concert was due to the petition filed at Change.org.
