Director Josh Trank Step Down from the Standalone “Star Wars” Project

Director Josh Trank who was earlier selected to direct one of the upcoming Star Wars standalone films, decided to step down form the project to pursue other “creatie opportunities.” The rebooted “Star Wars” project is considered as one of the few science fiction movie that is set to conquer the box office records worldwide.

The 30-year-old Josh Trank is best known for his work in the science fiction movies “Chronicle” and the upcoming “Fantastic Four” movie. The director was chose to direct the second “Star Wars Anthology” which is scheduled to be shown in cinemas worlwide this coming December 2018.

The highly anticipated Star Wars movies will kick off at the end of the year, starting on December 2018 featuring “Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The first Stars War standalone film titled “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One,” directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, is the first of the standalone films and is due out in 2016.

Meanwhile, Josh Trank resignation letter states that “After a ear of having incredible honor of developing with the wonderful talented peoiple at LucasFilm, “I’m sure making a personal decision to move forward on a different pat,” Josh Trank added.

The Star Wars movie which was originally created by filmaker George Lucas grossed more than $4.4 billion at the worldwide box office since 1977, with six filmsand has become embedded in pop culture, spawning a legion of devoted fans.

In the latest Star Wars movie, franchise stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, they will return in the highly anticipated “The Force Awakens.”
