Korina Sanchez Clears Assertion About Being Fired From News Program

Korina Sanchez, one of ABS-CBN’s banner news program anchors, has denied recently that she has been fired from the program.

Korina in her long absence from the news program cleared that she is on leave because she is prioritizing her studies as she is taking online courses for her master’s program in Journalism in the Ateneo de Manila University and the London School of Economics.

Korina said that the online sessions for school are slated usually at 7pm which covers the news program timeslot.

In a report from Philippine Entertainment Portal, Sanchez has been quoted saying that the reports about her resignation is just a break clearing that the reports that she agreed to be fired from the show but asked that she still be included in the opening billboard and that Karen Davila will not take her place, as “baseless” and “wrong”.

Speculations started out after Sanchez’s rife with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper during the coverage of the super typhoon “Haiyan” and her controversial comment of hoping that Japan, and not the Philippines, would experience the impact of the typhoon “Ruby”.
