US Famous Chef, Who Blended Science And Fine Dining, Dies

CHICAGO—Chef Homaro Cantu, one of the renowned chefs who artfully merged science and fine dining at his Michelin-starred Chicago restaurant, was found dead Tuesday. chef

Medical examiners from the Cook County reported the death of the chef was a suicide saying that Cantu hanged himself. Cantu was supposed to open his brewery this summer at on the city’s northwest side where his body was found.

The 38-year-old chef was famous as he turned cooking into experiment with molecular gastronomy in his restaurant. He served carbonated fruit and fish dish which was cooked in a tabletop polymer box, among others at Moto, the restaurant he led in the city’s West Loop neighborhood.
