“You’re My Boss” Box Office Income Reached P65 Million in Three Days

The latest movie offering of ABS-CBN Star Cinema this summer featuring Coco Martin and Toni Gonzaga titled “You’re My Boss” dominated the box office returns of local movies. The box office income of the movie “You’re My Boss” already reached P65 million after three days of showing nationwide.

The Toni Gonzaga and Coco Martin movie debuted on Black Saturday and since then it competed even against the famous Hollywood movie “Fast and Furious 7” in terms of movie ticket sales in more than hundred cinemas across the Philippines.

The movie “You’re My Boss” is the first major studio film of Coco and Toni under ABS-CBN which also featured, white-hot independent Filipino film writer-director Antoiniette Jadaone. The director of the movie made some headlines earlier after the critical success of her movie “That Thing Called Tadhana” which also conquered the box office in Philippine cinemas.

You’re My Boss features the story of a role reversal for the characters of Pong (Coco Martin) who is the humble assistant to Georgina (Toni Gonzaga) an alpha female of a boss.

When Sir Albert (Freddie Webb), their company’s Chief Commercial Officer, goes on sabbatical, he assigns a very important deal to be handled by Georgina. When she meets with the client, Mr. Najimoto, the latter refuses to discuss business with anyone face-to-face except with the head honcho. Enter clueless Pong who Georgina conveniently introduces, under pretense, as the boss.

The movie “You’re My Boss” featuring Coco Martin and Toni Gonzaga is still showing in various theaters nationwide. Star Cinema also announced that there will be international screenings of the movie in various countries and territories with Filipino communities worldwide.
