LRT, MRT & PNR Schedules of Operations for Holy Week 2015

The country’s major train operators, the Light Rail Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Philippine National Railways (PNR) released the official schedules of train operations for for the Holy Week 2015 particularly the first week of April. The schedules of operations for LRT, MRT and PNR for April 1-6, 2015 is now available online.

LRT Schedules

According to Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera on his official Twitter account, the last train schedule (LRT 1 & 2) is 8:00 PM on April 1 (Wednesday) and there will be no operations from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, April 2-5, 2015.

The schedule of LRT shutdown is to give way for the annual scheduled maintenance of LRT 1 and 2 systems.

Here is the LRT Holy Week Schedule:

April 1, 2015 (Holy Wednesday):

Line 1 last trip (Commercial Train)

  • Baclaran Terminal – 8:00 PM
  • Roosevelt Station – 8:00 PM

Line 2 last trip (Commercial Train)

  • Santolan Station – 8:00 PM
  • Recto Station – 8:30 PM

No operations/ revenue service on the following dates:

April 2, 2015 – Maundy Thursday
April 3, 2015 – Good Friday
April 4, 2015 – Black Saturday
April 5, 2015 – Easter Sunday

The DOTC-MRT3 also announced to the general public and their commuters traversing EDSA that there will be no MRT operations/revenue service on April 2-5, 2015. The Regular Operations of MRT-3 will resume on Monday, April 6, 2015.

This coming Wednesday, April 1, MRT-3 announced that the last trip from North Avenue station will be at 7:40 PM while the last trip from Taft Avenue station will be at 8:20 PM.

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) also announced that the Metro South Commuter Line (MSCL) will operate until Maundy Thursday but with fewer trips. They will then suspend operations from April 3 to 4, 2015 and will deploy fewer trips when it resumes operations on Easter Sunday while on Monday it will be back to normal operations.

Meanwhile the PNR Bicol Commuter Train Service will be operational as usual until Maunday Thursday and will suspend operations on Good Friday and Black Saturday while the normal operations will resume on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015.
