Female Cadet One of the Top 10 in the PNPA Lakandula Class of 2015 Graduates

PNPA Cadet 1st Class Julie Anne Aguilar was one of the top 10 in this year’s graduating batch of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Lakandula Class, which is considered as a living proof that women can survive and achieve honors even in an institution dominated by men.

The female cadet made it to the Top 10 graduates of the PNPA Lakandula Class of 2015, Lakandual stands for “Lahing Kayumanggi na Handang Ialay sa Bayan ang Dugo at Lakas.”

Cadet 1st Class Julie Anne Aguilar placed 10th in this year’s graduating batch, the graduation rites of the PNPA will be held on March 26 at the PNPA compound in Silang, Cavite. A total of 15 women out of 247 will be graduating this year from the PNPA.

In an interview with PhilStar, Cadet 1st Class Julie Anne Aguilar noted that it is an honor for her to achieve such an honor and achievement in an institution composed mostly of men. The achievement of the first female chairperson of the PNPA honor committee, is also a statement the females can also achieve and succeed in the field.” she said.

The graduating Aguilar is the daughter of Senior Superintendent Geronimo Aguilar who is currently assigned to the finance service of the PNP, who was also a valedictorian of PNPA Class of 1987.

According to reports, out of the 247 PNPA graduates this year, 226 will join the local police force, eleven will be under the Bureau of Fire Protection and 10 will join the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Meanwhile, despite the recent deaths of the 44 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers in Mamasapano, a total of 60 graduates of the PNPA Class of 2015 are set to join the elite force of the PNP.
