Watch: Video of Japanese Battleship Musashi Released by Paul Allen Online

The exclusive video of the discovery of the Japanese battleship Musashi was already released online by the company of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen who discovered the wreckage underneath the Sibuyan Sea in Central Philippines. The video footage of the ill-fated Japanese Imperial Army vessel was released by Vulcan Inc., the holding company of Paul Allen.

The Japanese Imperial Army vessel, the Musashi was discovered at the bottom of the Sibuyan Sea in the Philippines on March 1, 2015 or a total of 71 years after it was destroyed by the Allied forces composed of The US and Australian Navy during World War II.

The battleship Musashi is considered as one of the largest vessel of the Japanese Navy during the World War II which participated in the world-renowned Battle of Leyte Gulf, the largest naval battle in history.

According to Paul Allen’s company, the battleship Musashi was discovered by his research team as they showcased the images of the wreck online which was captured by the ROV launched from Paul Allen’s mega yacht M/Y Octopus.

Based upon the history of World War II, the battleship Musashi was hit by dozens torpedoes and bombs before it capsized along with it’s commander, Admiral Toshihira Inogugchi and more than a thousand of his crew.

Meanwhile, according to the billionaire owner of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers and the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, the Musashi “is truly an engineering marvel,” he stated. Paul Allen even added that as an engineer at heart, he had a deep appreciation for the technology and effort that went into its construction,” the Microsoft co-founder added.
