Three Filipina Executives In the List of 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen in Asia

Forbes Magazines, one of the world’s leading financial authority named three Filipina executives who made it to the elite list of Forbe’s 50 Powerful Businesswomen in Asia for the year 2015. The three executives are all daughters of business tycoons in the Philippines, the three Filipinas are Teresita Sy-Coson, Helen Yuchengco-Dee, and Zenaida Rustia-Tantoco.

According to the data gathered by Forbes, Teresita Sy-Coson is the vice chairman of SM Investments and chairman of BDO Universal Bank. She consistently made it to the Forbes’ list of the 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen in Asia for the past four years since the inception of Forbes Lists.

Forbes cited that under the leadership of the 54-year-old Teresita Sy-Coson, she lead the SMIC to become the largest listed company on the Philippine Stock Exchange with group revenue in the first nine months of 2014 up by 8%, to $4.4 billion and net profit rose 14% to $140 million.

Helen Yuchengco-Dee was also included in the elite list of businesswomen in Asia, the 70-year-old daughter of business tycoon, is the chairman of the Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., and she was cited for leading the Yuchengco Group of Companies, non-life insurance firm Malayan Insurance and construction EEI for unprecedented success for the past years.

Meanwhile the other Filipina businesswoman who was included in the list is no other than Zenaida Rustia-Tantoco, the chairman and executive officer of the SSI Group/Rustan’s Commercial. The 68-year-old businesswoman was noted by Forbes as instrumental for the increas of revenue of SSI as it debuted on the Philippine Stock Exchange last year.
