Sen. Nancy Binay was quoted as saying “You are under oath, please kindly tell the truth,” was Senator Nancy Binay’s “gentle” advice to DILG Secretary Mar Roxas during the senate hearing on Monday.

The Senator added further that “Just a gentle reminder, last hearing when I asked you if you informed the President parang di ho nakasagot then yesterday nabanggit n’yo you texted pala the President ng 8 a.m. You are under oath so please kindly tell the truth,” Binay told Roxas.

The daughter of Vice-Pres. Binay also asked Sec. Roxas what was the President’s reply to his text message when he informed the President about the Mamasapano operation last January 25, 2015 which cost the lives of the 44 elite members of the PNP-SAF.

The DILG Secretary did not answer the questions directly, instead he reacted first to the senator’s insinuation that he was not being truthful in his testimony in the ongoing Senate investigation on the Mamasapano incident.

Sec. Roxas was quoted as saying “If I may, I have been and always will tell the truth. I did not at anytime commit what you’re implying in your statement, madam senator,” said Roxas.

As to the senator’s query, Roxas said President Benigno Aquino III simply replied “thank you” to his text.
