ER Ejercito Announced a Film About the 44 PNP-SAF Troopers Involved in Mamasapano

The former governor of the Province of Laguna, ER Ejercito announced on Monday, February 16, 2015, about the 44 Special Action Forces (SAF) troopers who were killed in an encounter with forces of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Mamasapano, Maguindanao during the highly controversial January 25 encounter between the government forces and armed men in Maguindanao.

The veteran actor, ER Ejercito, also known for his screen name Jeorge Estregan, shared a posted of the movie titled “SAF” on his official Facebook Page. According to the post, the movie will be directed by Pedring Lopez. It has the tagline “Para sa Diyos, Para sa Bayan, Para sa Tao.”

Gov. Ejercito also added the following caption as a description of the poster: “Bilang pagpupugay natin sa 44 bayani ng Elite PNP-SAF officers na nagbuwis ng buhay sa Mamasapano clash, isasapelikula ng inyong lingkod ang makulay na buhay at kabayanihan ng ating mga magigiting na sundalo upang mabigyan ng tamang pagkilala at pagpupugay ang #Fallen44”

The announcement of the upcoming SAF movie went viral online only after a few hours it was published, garnering more than 5,000 Likes, 150 comments and 450 shares on Facebok. The poster received mixed reactions among those who saw the poster and some of them even posted their own comments on the upcoming movie of ER Ejercito.

Although there are some netizens who disagree with the SAF movie, there are netizens also who supported ER Ejercito on his decision to make a movie as part of his contribution to remember the deaths of the fallen 44.
