Taylor Swift’s Instagram and Twitter Account Hacked on Tuesday

International pop superstar Taylor Swift claimed on social media that her Twitter and Instagram accounts were hacked on Tuesday, but the rogue posts on her official social media accounts were quickly removed from the both Twitter and Instagram.

The 25-year-old singer who popularized the song “Shake It Off” has built a huge following of young fans through ther social media accounts and considered as the fourth-most popular Twitter user with a more than 51.4 million followers.

In an official statement through blogging website Tumblr, Taylor Swift was quoted as saying “My Twitter got hacked but don’t worry, Twitter is deleting the hacker tweets and locking my account until they can figure out how this happened and get me new passwords,” she stated on Tumblr.

For the past few months celebrities are frequent targets of hackers who have posted personal and embarrassing information online in previous high-profile hacks.

The publicist of Taylor Swift did not immediately respond to numerous queries about the details of the hacking incident while Twitter and Facebook-owned Instagram did not immediately respond for comment on whether Taylor Swift’s account have been hacked.

The hacking of Taylor Swift’s account also coincides with the recent outage experience by Facebook and Instagram throughout Asia, United States and some parts of Europe.
