San Miguel Defeats Alaska in Game 7 Captured PBA All Filipino Title (Video)

The San Miguel Beermen defeated the Alaska Aces in a hotly-contested Game 7 of the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday night held at the jampacked Smart Araneta Coliseum with the Beermen capturing the All Filipino Cup title after the phenomenal Game 7 of the best-of-seven title series.

The Game 7 between the Beermen and the Aces went down the wire as San Miguel put themselves in a familiar situation at the end game. San Miguel dominated the Alaska Aces with a commanding 23-point lead but the Aces made a tremendous comeback and made a historic down-the-wire finals game.

San Miguel defeated the Alaska Aces with the final score at 80-78, and captured the 2015 PBA Philippine Cup title, that had eluded the team for such a long time. The victory for the Beermen is the franchise 20th title, the most in the PBA by any team aside from being the team’s first All-Filipino Cup title since the year 2001.

The pride of Pampanga, Arwind Santos also went on to be named as the Finals MVP, scoring 22 points, including his team’s last four points, highlighted by a clutch three-pointer that gave the lead back to San Miguel 79-78, with 43.7 seconds left. Aside from the much-needed poinst, Arwind Santos also grabbed 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Arwind Santos averaged a total of 18.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game in the championship round between the San Miguel Beermen and the Alaska Aces.
