The newest MMFF-entry movie from Star Cinema titled “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” is now considered as the highest grossing Filipino film of all time. The main character of the movie, Vice Ganda made an announcement that his latest movie broke the previous highest grossing movie in the country.
Comedian Vice Ganda made an announcement about the recent success of his latest movie during the latest episode on It’s Showtime on Friday as he congratulated director Wenn Deramas, as well as Star Cinema and Viva Films which co-produced the comedy flick.
The feat of Praybeyt Benjamin 2 was accomplished on Thursday, which was declared a special holiday in Metro Manila because of the arrival of Pope Francis.
The previous highest grossing movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” the official entry of the 2013 MMFF, previously hold the all-time box-office record which was also directed by Wenn Deramas.
Although Vice Ganda did not disclose the official box office earnings of the Praybeyt Benjamin 2 but the previous highest grossing movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” grossed P456 million during its theatrical run.
This was seriously the worst movie I’ve ever seen.
