Outstanding Filipino Policemen to Get as Much as P30,000 Performance Bonus

The Philippine National Police announced on Tuesday, that monetary awards as much as P30,000 will be given to deserving cops who excelled on their performance of duties for the year 2014. The PNP’s Performance-Based Bonuses (PBB) willl be released to the cops starting on January 6, 2015.

The good news was relayed to the cops by PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor who noted that police officers and police unites are graded based on the quality of their performance; whether they did “good, better or best.”

The PNP clarified that since the bonus will depend on performance, officers should not be surprised if they will receive just P5,000 of the PBB, while some of their fellow police officers will receive as much as P30,000.

A total of 150,000-strong PNP officers was given by the national government through the Department of Budget and Management an allocation of more than P1.3 billion for the said performance based bonus.

According to the PNP, all Filipino cops will receive their bonus through their ATM payroll accounts but for those who don’t have their ATM yet, they will receive their PBB through Continuous Form Checks drawn from the PNP account with state-owned Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

The PNP also clarified that aside from the PBB which is set to release earlier next month, the DBM already disbursed P750 million for the PNP personal’s Performance Enhancement Incentive (PEI). Each cops across the country receive a fixed amount of P5,000 as incentive.

The cops PEI were already incorporated in their salary and allowances for the period December 15-30, 2014. All in all the PNP received from the government a year-end bonus of P5,000, PEI, PBB and of course the 13th month pay separately issued by the government on May and and June.
