Kapamilya actress Alex Gonzaga is set to be launched as a solo film star next year, 2015 as confirmed by talk show host Boy Abunda on the live episode of “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” aired on Friday December 19, 2014.
During the interview, the “Pure Love” star said that the leading film producer in the country, Star Cinema has chosen the box-office director Wenn V. Deramas to direct her launching movie.
Wenn. Deramas is the director of upcoming comedy movie and part of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” starring Vice Ganda. Alex Gonzaga is also one of the casts.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old star admitted that she is a huge fan of Vice Ganda and she really enjoyed shooting with him and with other casts. She was also happy to work with Wenn V. Deramas.
Aside from the “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” and her untitled launching movie, Alex Gonzaga will reprise the role of Diamond Star Maricel Soriano on the TV remake of 1985 film “Inday Bote.” She will be joined by Matteo Guidicelli and Kean Cipriano.
Alex Gonzaga said in her previous interviews that she is pressured to do the role since it was first portrayed by Maricel Soriano. However, she is also excited to start working for the series. The production behind “Inday Bote” has yet to announce the premiere date.
Meanwhile, Alex Gonzaga is currently co-hosting “The Voice of the Philippines Season 2” which airs on Saturdays and Sundays on ABS-CBN Yes Weekend block.
