LRT & MRT Released Schedules for Christmas & New Year Holiday

The Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) released their official schedules for the Christmas and New Year Holiday. According to LRT and MRT officials, the operations of the rail transit will be shortened, as confirmed by Hernando Cabrera through his official Twitter account on Friday.

The official noted that the LRT and MRT employees also need a break during holidays. The LRT and MRT employees will enjoy their long weekends during the 2014 Christmas holidays and the 2015 New Year Holiday.

According to the latest schedules of the LRT-1 for the Christmas Holiday, the last train will leave Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 8:00 PM on December 24, 2014. During the New Year’s Eve, on December 31, 2014, the last train will the end stations of LRT-1 earlier at around 7:00 PM.

Meanwhile the last trip for LRT-2 from the Recto and Santolan stations on Christmas eve will be at 8:20 PM and 8:00 PM respectively. During the New Year’s Eve on December 31, trains will leave Santolan at 7:00 PM while the last trip from the Recto station will be at 7:20 PM.

The LRT Line 1 or also known as the Green Line (formerly Yellow Line) runs from Monumento to Baclaran while the LRT Line 2 also known as the Blue Line (formerly Purple Line) runs from Recto to Santolan.
