There Is Only One Banking Day From December 24 To January 4

Christmas is just few days to go and the public is being reminded to plan ahead since there is only one banking day starting December 24, 2014 until January 4 in the following year, 2015.

According to ANC News, the banks will only be open on December 29, 2014 and all other days either it fall on weekend will be considered holidays by the bank companies.

Credit card companies are also reminding their clients to settle their bills before the holidays start since processing of payments made on December 24, 2014 and January 4, 2015 will be considered transactions on January 5, 2014.

Meanwhile, there are only five holidays left this year, which includes dates from December 24 to 26, 2014 and December 30 to 31, 2014. It includes three special non-working holidays and two regular holidays.

The holidays were declared under the Proclamation No. 655, s. 2013, signed by the country’s top official, President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III.

Furthermore, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) are reminding all employers to observe the proper pay rules during holidays.

Here are the following holidays left for 2014:

December 24, 2014, Wednesday – Additional special non-working day (Special non-working day)
December 25, 2014, Thursday – Christmas Day (Regular Holiday)
December 26, 2014, Friday – Additional special non-working day (Special non-working day)
December 30, 2014, Tuesday – Rizal Day (Regular Holiday)
December 31, 2014, Wednesday – Last day of the year (Special non-working day)
