The highly anticipated mega bout featuring two of the world’s future hall of fame boxers, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will come to reality after the undefeated US boxers challenged Manny Pacquiao for a May 2, 2014 boxing match. The current No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., stated that he is now willing to step into the ring against the former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather

For the very first time in the history of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr. made an official statement regarding the superfight since Manny Pacquiao called him out last month. The Filipino boxing icon was even featured in a Foot Locker commercial mocking Floyd’s supposed reluctance to face him on the ring.

In the latest statement of Floyd Mayweather Jr., during an interview with Showtime, he claimed that it is Manny Pacquiao who is avoiding the super fight between him and the Filipino boxing icon.

During the extensive interview with Mayweather, he confirmed his desire to fight Manny Pacquiao, considered to be the richest in the history of boxing.

The 37-year-old Floyd Mayweather Jr., also recalled the failed talks he had with the Filipino icon’s camp several years ago, blaming Manny Pacquiao for his reluctance to undergo random blood testing.

Both Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the 35-year-old Manny Pacquiao are set to earn career-high purses facing each other and they are entitled to a portion of the revenue from pay-per-views and live gate, but the American boxer is expected to demand the lion’s share.
