ABS-CBN news anchor and veteran journalist Korina Sanchez, made headlines anew, after her unsolicited comments on Bagyong Ruby went viral. The incident happened, just a year after, she was involved in another controversy against veteran CNN journalist Anderson Cooper.

During the Wednesday’s episode of the Kapamilya newscast TV Patrol, Korina Sanchez was quoted hoping Typhoon Ruby, (international name Hagupit) would hit Japan instead of the Philippines, and that Filipinos could still pray the typhoon away.

One of the viral clip posted on YouTube by user Danny Luke, the veteran journalist Korina Sanchez is heard conversing with her co-anchors Noli de Castro and Ted Failon, alongside the images of the then coming typhoon were flashed on screen.

Based upon the clip, Ted Failon starts saying that “the next few days are critical in determining the path of the typhoon,” Korina Sanchez then reacts, “Kaya pa natin idasal yan para lumihis,” she stated.

Noli de Castro also commented that “Sana ay hati na lang tayo.” “Kalahati sa Pilipinas, kalahati sa Japan,” Noli de Castro stated, but Korina Sanchez once again responded with some offensive words “Pwede bang sa kanila na lang lahat?” she stated.

The YouTube video which was posted online went viral immediately and it was also posted and shared on various social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

One of the netizens reacted with the comments of Korina Sanchez, the netizen noted that “no one has the right to wish ill of another… no matter how better or worse the situation.

  1. Over-sensitive nyo naman.. Opinion section na yung part na iyan.. They were just idly discussing the coming tragedy.. They did not mean harm to befell Japan.. They cannot influence the path of the Typhoon/Tropical Storm.. Stop over-reacting and thinking like a bunch of ignorant mobs..
