Kim Chiu received the Best Actress award for her role in the top-rating and now defunct series “Ikaw Lamang,” beating her fellow kapamilya stars Maja Salvador, Angel Locsin  and Bea Alonzo. She also beat the veteran actress Maricel Soriano and kapuso actress Lovi Poe.

In an interview with “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” aired on Wednesday November 26, 2014, the “Past Tense” star was made to react about the critics who said that she bought the award because she is not deserving for it.

While turning emotional, Kim Chiu said, “Ang social media ngayon, sobra nang… Ayan tuloy, naiiyak na ako. Siyempre sa tagal ko dito sa showbiz, masakit din pagsalitaan ka sa gano’n.”

The 24-year-old actress said that she has already top-billed several TV series and it was the first time she received a Best Actress award, which she can called hers.

“Sa walo kong teleserye, ngayon lang ako nakatanggap ng recognition na matatawag ko na akin at best actress ako. Siyempre pangarap ko ‘yon na magkaroon,” she added.

Kim Chiu added that she felt good after receiving the award because it paid off her sacrifices, adding that she will just make her critics and bashers as an inspiration to improve her craft.

Meanwhile, Kim Chiu is now promoting her film “Past Tense” with rumored boyfriend Xian Lim and “Comedy Queen” Ai-Ai delas Alas. The film was released yesterday November 26, 2014 and will open in theaters in Visayas and Mindanao today, November 17, 2014.
