The “Sisterakas” star tied the knot with Jed Salang in Las Vegas on April last year. Their relationship was ended after less than a month after Ai-Ai delas Alas accused him of physical abuse.

Ai-Ai delas Alas confirmed that they are officially divorced on January this year, saying that the Las Vegas court has finally issued a divorce decree to put their marriage to an end.

In an interview with “Mornings@ANC” on Tuesday November 25, 2014, the 50-year-old comedian said that she was even thankful for Jed Salang for giving him another chance to be happy having a relationship.

“Wala [akong gustong baguhin]. I just want to be thankful to the Lord na napakaganda ng buhay na ibinigay niya sa akin and ng chance para maging masaya ulit sa love life ko,” she said.

Ai-Ai delas Alas said that she would have not met her current boyfriend, the former De La Salle badminton player Gerald Sibayan, who is 30 years her junior, if her relationship with Jed Salang did not end.

“Sabi ko nga, siguro binigay ‘yun ni Lord sa akin, ‘yung incident na ‘yun, para makilala ko at maramdaman ko na masaya pala ang buhay kay Gerald. Kaya magpasalamat na rin tayo sa ex ko na ‘yun,” she added.

Meanwhile, Ai-Ai delas Alas is currently busy promoting her upcoming Star Cinema movie “Past Tense” with Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. Directed Mae Czarina Cruz, the comedy film will open in theaters nationwide on November 26, 2014.
