In an interview with ABS-CBN News Gretchen Fullido, the “Sisterakas” star, who was recently confined in hospital, said that he has to rest his voice for a long time or else he might lose it permanently.

“Pag hindi ko napaayos ‘yung sitwasyon ng throat ko, nakakatakot. I might lose my voice, kaya kailangan ipaayos ko na siya. After no’n, kailangan ko ng two weeks ng total voice rest. And after that two weeks, hindi ko parin siya puwedeng gamitin nang gamitin, kasi mabibinat,” he explained.

The 38-year-old comedian said he was advised by his physician to avoid getting too excited and limit his body movements. He also needs a full recovery before resuming to work.

Vice Ganda said he is saddened that he has to take a rest from “It’s Showtime.”  He also clarified the rumors that his break  is not because of any problems with staff or management of the show.

Vice Ganda has yet to arrange the precise date of his leave, including his shooting schedule in the movie “Praybeyt Benjamin 2.” The movie, which is part of this years’ Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will be released on December 24.
