San Beda Wins 5th Straight NCAA Title After Defeating Arellano (Highlights Video)

The multi-titled San Beda Red Lions successfully made a historic run in the NCAA as they won their 5th straight title in the men’s basketball championship against the Arellano University. The Red Lions outplayed the Chiefs in the Game 2 of the NCAA Season 90 Finals game with the final score at 89-70 held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Anthony Semerad and Baser Amer led the Red Lions in securing their 19th overall NCAA title, Semerad scored a total of 30 points and grabbed six rebounds while Baser Amer was unstoppable with his record-breaking 13 assists as the Red Lions completed a sweep of the best-of-three series.

After the historic 5-peat win of the Red Lions, their head coach former PBA guard Boyet Fernandez commended his boy’s performance who according to him, his boys wanted to finish the game and enjoy their five-peat historic win in the NCAA.

The Red Lions is now tied with the San Sebastian (for most number of consecutive NCAA titles), the team is now looking forward for a six-peat performance next year. San Beda has now won five consecutive NCAA titles and eight of the last nine in the NCAA.

The NCAA also awarded the Finals MVP to Anthony Semerad after making an impressive 22 points per game in the NCAA finals between the San Beda Red Lions and the Arellano University Chiefs on their first-ever NCAA finals appearance.
