Marlisa Punzalan Declared Winner of “The X Factor” Australia (Video)

Marliza Punzalan was declared the grand winner of “The X Factor” Australia, making her the youngest champion of the talent search for the past few years. The Australian version of X Factor started during the year 2005. The victory of Marlisa Punzalan came nine months after another Filipino was declared as the winner of X Factor in Israel, Rose Fostanes.

The 15-year-old Marlisa Punzalan won the title as “The X Factor” Australia grand winner on Monday, October 21, 2014. The Filipino was so proud after she was declared as the grand champion of X Factor Australia. Her mentor, Irish singer Ronan Keating was also proud with the achievement of Marlisa Punzalan.

Marlisa Punzalan was able to beat the other two finalists, the Brothers3 and Dean Rey, who were coached by Dannii Minogue and Natalie Bassingwaithe, respectively. After winning the title, Marlisa Punzalan admitted that she lacked confidence during the early part of the competition.

She sang the song popularized by The Beatles titled “Yesterday,” her audition piece, she also got a standing ovation for her powerful performance of the song “Stand By You,” her would-be first single as the winner of X Factor Australia.
