PBA 2015 Opening Ceremony of the 40th Season (Highlights & Replay Video)

The 2015 Opening Ceremony of the 40th Season of the country’s most popular sports league, the PBA, was witness by thousands of Filipinos who were watching live at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan. The largest-ever venue of the PBA’s opening ceremony was shown live through the facilities of Kapatid Channel, TV5. There more than 150 dancers performed amid a spectacle of sounds and lights as the PBA also featured a walk down memory lane, a special video presentation of the league in celebration of its four decades of PBA milestones.

The Philippine President, Pres. Aquino sends and envoy to represent him during the celebration, as Secretary Joel Villanueva grace the special occasion which drew a huge crow of more than 50,000 spectators and millions watching on national TV.

The 40th Season of the PBA also marked the entry of three new ball clubs as expansion teams, the Kia Sorento bannered by sports icon Manny Pacquiao, and Blackwater Elite while the NLEX Road Warriors replaced the Air21 team.

The PBA also highlights by a special presentation of Gilas Pilipinas, the country’s men’s national basketball squad, which made the nation proud for its successful return and a riveting performance in the 2014 FIBA World Cup held in Spain.

The PBA Season 40 was declared open by league board chairman Patrick Greogorio followed by the PBA’s first game featuring the Kia Motors Sorento vs. Blackwater Elite in the first game followed by the crowd favorite Ginebra San Miguel going up against dominant team, Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters.

The Opening Ceremonies of the PBA also features by some of the most beautiful women in the Philippines as the team’s respective muses paraded their beauties at around 1:30 PM.
