The country’s “Teleserye King” Coco Martin has already regained his endorsement deals after the “Bench” controversy. This was after he admitted that he lost some of his endorsements due to his controversial catwalk on the Bench fashion show last month.
The fashion show held at SM Mall of Asia Arena on September 20 received a lot of bad feed backs. Various groups criticized some scene at the runway including Coco Martin’s appearance with a woman on the leash.
In an interview with Push, Coco Martin said that he regained his endorsements after he personally apologized and talked to the human rights and women’s group concerning the issue. He also vowed to help in protecting the rights of women.
“Okay na. Mula nung nagkausap kami ng Gabriela at ng iba pang mga grupo na concerned nagbalikan na agad,” he said.
While admitting that he sometimes forget his responsibility as a public figure, the 32-year-old actor said that the incident has taught him an important lesson.
“Sabi ko nga ako alam ko naman bilang artista ‘yung responsibilidad ko as an actor sa audience ko. Siguro hindi lang talaga all of the time talagang nakatutok ka minsan may mapapabayaan ka,” he said.
Meanwhile, Coco Martin is now busy for the shooting of his hit series “Ikaw Lamang” which also stars Kim Chiu and KC Concepcion. The show, which airs every weeknight on kapamilya Primetime Bida, is now down to its final week.
