The “Good Samaritan Cop” identified as SPO1 Ariel Camiling is set to receive recognition from the Philippine National Police for his gesture of helping a stranded motorists along EDSA. The photo of the Policeman who helped the motorists went viral online after it was posted by a certain Joann Delos Santos. The recognition ceremony for SPO1 Camiling will be held this coming Monday, October 20, 2014.

The Police Officer SPO1 Ariel Camiling was interviewed by ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda on Friday, October 17, 2014, after a photo of himself and a motorist made the rounds online during the past few days.
The viral photo of the “Good Samaritan Cop” just proved that certainly during this hard times, some police officers are still loyal to their uniforms and service to the Filipino people. Most policeman were always involved in some illegal activities but Police Officer Camiling proved once and for all, that the Filipinos should not be afraid with the police force.
SPO1 Ariel Camiling was assigned to the Quezon City Police District, he was credited as the only police officer who helped the couple identified as Dan and Joann Delos Santos when their car was stalled at EDSA.
The Police Officer and the couple whom he helped meet once again during the interview with ABS-CBN, the couple thanked the police officer for his effort. During the interview SPO1 Camiling was quoted as saying “Actually, hindi naman natin dapat katakutan ang pulis. Any time, handa silang tulungan tayo.” he said.
Meanwhile, according to Facebook user Joann Delos Santos she never expected that her Facebook post would go viral because all she wanted was just to thank the policeman.
She was quoted as saying “My only intention why I posted it is to say thank you to him. Tapos para lang talaga malaman ng tao na may mabubuti pang pulis.” she said.
