It’s Showtime Fifth Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off with Grand Number (Video)

The top-rating noontime show, “It’s Showtime” kicked off its month-long anniversary celebration with a grand number on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 featuring its co-hosts performing the latest and most popular dance craze they popularized during the past year.

It’s Showtime mainstays, Coleen Garcia, Kim Atienza, Ryan Bang, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpus, Jhong Hilario, Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis and the Unkabogable Vice Ganda showcased their dancing skills to the delight of the “madlang people.”

As part of the sixth anniversary celebration of “It’s Showtime,” the noon-time show also debuted a new and more colorful logo. The currently top rating and top trending noontime show was launched way back the year 2009 as a morning talent search, during that time it was only called as “Showtime.”

During the year 2012, the show was moved to a new noontime slot and was re-branded as “It’s Showtime,” competing against the dominant “Eat Bulaga” show of the rival station, GMA7.

The highly anticipated month-long Fifth Anniversary celebration of It’s Showtime will once again feature co-hosts forming four to five teams competing in a segment called “Magpasikat,” the traditional week-long talent showdown of the It’s Showtime mainstays.

During the fourth anniversary celebration of It’s Showtime last 2013, the group of Karylle, Corpuz, ang Jugueta won the “Magpasikat” after their confusing but clever sing-and-stunt number which only made sense when played backwards.

The previous winners of the popular “Magpasikat,” segment won a total cash prize worth P100,000 given to their chosen charity. This year’s edition of Magpasikat is not clear yet, wither a new mechanics will be introduced.
