“Mahal Ko O Mahal Ako” of Edwin Marollano was this years’s Best Song in Himig Handog. The finals night was held at Araneta Coliseum Sunday, September 28, 2014. The said song was interpreted by the X-Factor Philippines grand champion, KZ Tandingan.
According to the composer of the song, the song itself is based on a true story. It is about a woman’s difficulty on choosing between two guys in her life. Whether it would be the won she loves of the one who loves her. It also received 1 million pesos prize.
The song leave a question to the listeners on whom to choose, “Sino ang iibigin ko, ikaw ba na pangarap ko o siya ba na kumakatok sa puso ko?”

On the other hand, the second best song is titled ”Halik Sa Hangin” interpreted by Biv De Vera, Ebe Dancel and Abra. This was composed by David Dimaguila.
According to the composer of the song, the song itself had helped him recover to the pain brought by the tragedy happened in his childhood sweetheart after she left the town. The composer received 500, 000 pesos prize.

The 3rd Best Song was for Janella Salvador’s “Mahal Kita Pero.” It was composed by Melchora Mabilog.
The song tells the story of a girl who fell in love with a guy in a wrong time. She was in love but then, her parents don’t want her to enter in a relationship as long as she did not finish her study yet. The composer received 200, 000 pesos prize.
