Top Rank Officially Announces Donaire vs. Walters (October 18, 2014)

Top Rank Promotions announces that Nonito Donaire Jr. will battled out against Jamaican fighter Nicholas Walters for 12-rounds of boxing for the World Featherweight Championship title on October 18, 2014.

Dubbed as “The Filipino Flash,” the 31-year-old boxer is set to conquer to the world as he returns to the ring with his upcoming bout against Nicholas Walters.

Nonito Donaire’s bout against the Jamaican belter will take place on the under-card of Golovkin and Rubio on October 18, 2014 (October 19 Philippine Time) at the Stubhub Center, in Carson California.

“I am very excited for this fight. We are doing everything we can to be ready for everything Walters brings on October 18,” Nonito Donaire said in a sideline interview.

The Pinoy boxer who holds the record of 33 wins, 2 losses and 21 knockouts will defend his WBA world featherweight title against the “hard-hitting” boxer from Jamaica. Undefeated Nicholas Walters holds the professional record of 24 wins and 20 knockouts.

“This is my dream fight. It’s now the time to show everyone who is the best 126-pound world champion in the entire world,” Nicholas Walters on the other hand noted.

Thousands of fans around the world are gearing up on the upcoming fight of Nonito Donaire. The five-division world champion’s last fight is against Simpiwe Vetyeka whom he defeated via unanimous technical decision.
