Suspension of Work (Walang Pasok) in Government Offices (September 19, 2014)

The Philippine national government through a statement of Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte announced the suspension of work in various government offices in some ares of Luzon for Friday, September 19, 2014. The suspension was due to heavy floodings brought about by Bagyong Mario.

According to Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr., work in government offices has been suspended, except for those agencies whose work involves the delivery of basic and health services, disaster response and other vital public services.

13. Mindoro Provinces
14. Camarines Norte
15. Marinduque
16. Pangasinan

Meanwhile the national government also advised that for the private sector, the discretion to suspend work lies with the individual companies and employees. Malacanang urge employers to consider the circumstances of their employees brought about by the effect of Bagyong Mario.

The House of Representatives also called off their work for the day while the country’s highest court, the Supreme Court already announced the suspension of work in courts within the National Capital Region, Rizal and Bulacan.
