The award-winning actress and host Judy Ann Santos, who was dubbed by the local entertainment media as “Queen Of Soap Oper”, is set to topbill the remake of the hit horror film “Tiyanak”.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe, the kapamilya prized star said that the story of the film is the same but they changed it a little. “It’s almost the same story my mga ilang binago lang pero mas modernized na ang kwento, ang chacters,” he said.
The original “Tiyanak” film which was directed by Peque Gallaga was released in 1998 by Regal Films. It was originally starred by veteran actress Janice de Belen.
The movie centers the story of Julie, portrayed by Janice de Belen, who takes care of an abandoned child, who has demonic and vampriric powers.
According to Judy Ann Santos, the remake will be directed again by Peque Gallaga with Lory Reyes. The film is expected to be released before Halloween this year.
Meanwhile, Judy Ann Santos is currently busy hosting the reality show for couples “I Do” which airs every Saturdays and Sundays on ABS-CBN’s Yes weekend line-up. She is also part of the councils who guide the couples on their journey to become husbands and wives.
Judy Ann Santos will return also as a host in the second season of the kiddie game show “Bet On Your Baby” which will premiere on September 22, 2014.
