Cebu Province Cancelled Classes in All Levels Due to Bagyong Mario (September 18)

The Governor of Cebu Province, Gov. Hilario Davide III declared “No Classes” in all levels in Cebu Province on Thursday, September 18, 2014 in view of the strong rains brought by Bagyong Mario. The announcement was released by the Governor through the official Facebook Page of the Cebu Province.

Aside from declaring the suspension of classes in the Province of Cebu in all levels, the Cebu Governor also encouraged various offices to declare suspension of work considering the current weather situation.

Works at the Cebu Capitol has already been suspended according to the announcement made by Cebu Provincial Information Officer (PIO) Ethel Natera. Aside from the declaration of class suspension in the Province of Cebu and the entire Cebu City in all levels, nearby areas in Leyte also declared suspension of classes.

In Naval, province of Biliran, suspension of classes in elementary has also been declared. The Province is under the Orange Rainfall warning, while the whole Cebu and Bohol provinces are under the Yellow Rainfall warning.

According to the latest interview with PAGASA by ABS-CBN’s radio station, DZMM, weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio noted that Bagyong Mario will directly affect the whole province of Cebu.

The effect of the Tropical Storm in Cebu, combined with southwest monsoon, may be felt in the Province of Cebu until Saturday, September 20, 2014.
