President Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino III warned the Filipinos against siding with non-allies in 2016 elections and urged them to support his potential candidates.

Speaking to the hundreds of Filipinos in Belgium on Monday September 15, 2014, President Aquino said that there are only two kinds of candidates that will run in the next elections.

President Aquino said that the first kind are those who will continue what his administration did to improve the country– from economic development to social welfare.

“Yun pong mga kasangga natin at alam nating magtutuloy sa lahat ng ating naipunla…Sila ang magsasabing itutuloy ko at pagagandahin pa lalo ang nagsimulang transpormasyong ito,” he said.

According to him, the second kind are those who did nothing but to oppose the efforts and initiatives of his administration.

“Tanong ko po sa inyo, handa po ba tayong sumugal sa mga kontrang ito? ‘Di po ba mas siguradong ang pagpapatuloy (ng reporma) kung papanig tayo sa mga nakikita natin ngayong nakikiambag na?” he further added.

His remarks about 2016 elections came after he failed to name his bet for presidential candidate. Last Friday, he said that he will only name his bet at the right time, but among those who are in his list is Vice President Jejomar Binay.

President Ninoy Aquino also expressed his confidence that Filipinos will able to choose among the inefficient and efficient leaders of the country.
