Nueva Ecija provincial government declares suspension of classes on Monday, September 15, 2014 due to Typhoon Luis.
Update: Several LGUs Declared Suspension of Classes
Class suspension in Nueva Ecija was confirmed by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) following the announcement made by Governor Aurelio Umali to suspend classes due to Typhoon Luis. The suspension is effective in all levels.
Nueva Ecija is among the areas affected by Typhoon Luis. The province has been issued with Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 according to the storm signal released by Philippine weather bureau PAGASA.

Typhoon Luis (Kalmaegi) has made landfall in Cagayan-Isabela area at around 5 p.m. The typhoon continues to intensify with 130 kilometers per hour maximum sustained winds and gustiness for about 160 km/h.
The national government has alerted all the agencies to monitor the Typhoon as it continues to make devastation in the country.
“Residents in low-lying and mountainous areas under signal #3, #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under signal #3 and #2 are alerted against storm surges of up to 2 meters,” PAGASA said in a statement.
