Americans Have Tried On Guessing Some Filipino Words. You’ll Actually Laugh On Their Answers!

Unlike Americans, Filipinos knows more when talking about certain things they do. We are much aware on the words they say considering that English is an international language.

There’s actually a particular site called BuzzFeed who had made an experiment of how Americans should react and understand some Filipino words or if they actually understand it on the first place.

They had asked their 4 staffs to be their subject in the experiment. It involves 2 people from Los Angeles  and the other two in New York. Somewhat, there answers are reasonable but not wrong, based on BuzzFeed explanations.

First word is Astig. In Filipino term, it is something awesome or cool. But based on the answers of BuzzFeed employers, they define it as “a kind of bug,” “a Garlic,” “like, ‘get this astig off my face,’” one of them answered.

Next word is “Amboy.” It means an American and a boy in Filipino term.

One of them say, “oh yeah, he could be very punctual.” “An amboy had to borrow his sister’s bike because his car broke down so he rides up to you on a tiny bike with a basket and it’s embarrassing for everyone,” another one answered.

Next is the Filipino word, “Bongga.” In Filipino term, it means fabulous or fierce.

One of them say “Raise your hands if you like to bongggaaa.” Actually, there explanations on the word is so funny. They are thinking of a very far meaning on that word.

Next is “Kuripot.” In Filipino term, it is  ungenerous about money.

One of them answered, “it’s something you watch on youtube even though you know it’s gonna mess you up for life.” Seems that they are really not that particular on some Filipino words. There reactions and understandings are actually so funny.

But then, let’s just respect the way they describe it. it is just reasonable.
