The veteran actor Mark Gil, whose real name is Raphael Joseph De Mesa Eigenmann, passed away at 8:oo a.m on Monday September 1, 2014 at the age of 52. It was reported that he died due to liver cirrhosis.
The death of Mark Gil was confirmed by his manager June Rufino. According to him, the family of the actor is requesting for privacy but they will be issuing a statement regarding his death today at 5:00 p.m.
Mark Gil belongs to a respected showbiz clan. He is the father of kapamilya actress Andi Eigenmann and kapuso actors Sid Lucero and Gabby Eigenmann, and the brother of veteran actor and actress Michael de Mesa and Cheri Gil. He is also the former partner Bing Pimentel and Jaclyn Jose.
Mark Gil was last seen in the hit and now defunct series “The Legal Wife”, portraying the role of Dante Ramos, the father of Maja Salvador in the top-rating series. He was also seen in the series “Walang Hanggan”.
Rumors about Mark Gil’s health condition circulated since last month, saying that he was allegedly diagnosed of having a cancer. However, his son Sid Lucero denied that his father is suffering from cancer.
