Nora Aunor Reacts to Lyca Gairanod as “Little Superstar” (Video)

The award-winning veteran actress Nora Aunor, who is referred to as the country’s local “Superstar”, reacted to “The Voice Kids” champion Lyca Gairanod who is now being dubbed as the “Little Superstar”.

In an interview with the entertainment press, Nora Aunor said that people have to support and teach children like Lyca Gairanod since they will also teach the future generation when they are still in the showbiz industry.

“Maganda ‘yon, dapat tutulungan natin ang ganoong kabataan. Dahil kapag nagtagal, iyan na po ang magtuturo naman sa mga kabataan na susunod sa kanya, kaya kailangang turuan,” she said.

Lyca Gairanod was compared to Nora Aunor after her acting debut since they have similar beginnings in showbiz. The critically acclaimed actress started her career after winning an amateur singing contest.

Lyca Gairanod made her acting debut after starring in “Maalaala Mo Kaya”, telling her own life story. Her MMK episode become one of the most watched episodes after garnering 38.4% of nationwide ratings.

The 9-year-old artist appeared also in the family drama series “Hawak Kamay”, joining the child stars Zaijan Jaranilla, Andrea Brilliantes, Xyrel Manabat, Yesha Camille and his fellow “The Voice Kids” finalist Juan Karlos Labajo.

Lyca Gairanod will compete also in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). She will join the casts of “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” sequel.

Aside from several TV guest appearances, Lyca Gairanod is set also to join the “Asia’s Nightingale” Lani Misalucha in her concert with Darren Espanto.
