Some of the most famous Philippine basketball stars of the PBA and Gilas Pilipinas players joined the latest social media craze, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Gilas Pilipinas players Jared Dillinger, Marcus Douthit and Marc Pingris posted their video of the challenge on their official social media account.
San Mig Coffee forward and Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Marc Pingris posted a video his ALS Ice Bucket Challenge as two of his fellow Gilas players namely Jared Dillinger and Marcus Douthit joined him on his advocacy to raise awareness about the ALS or the Lou Gehrig Syndrome.
The Gilas Pilipinas trio are shown sitting on a bench while their fellow Gilas teammates Beau Belga, naturalized center Andray Blatche of the Brooklyn Nets and PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo dumped ice-cold water on them.
The 32-year-old Marc Pingris posted the video on his official Instagram account and nominated his fellow San Mig Coffee teammates Joe Devance and Rafi Reavis to take the challenge.
Marc Pingris teammate Joe Devance immediately responded to Pingris challenge by posting an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge of his own and called on the attention of James Yap, PJ Simmon and Mike Gracer to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge before being doused by his friends with an ice-cold water.
The famous Ice Bucket Challenge is considered as one of the most popular social media craze nowadays featuring a number of celebrities and athletes taking the challenge. The social media craze main purpose is to raise awareness about the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig disease.
