Darren Espanto Shared How He Learned To Speak Filipino

“The Voice Kids” finalist Darren Espanto shared how he learned to speak “Tagalog.” According to him, it was his parents who told him how to speak Filipino.

In fact there are certain scenarios where in Darren was told to speak Filipino rather than speak English. When he is already home, his parents will told him not to speak English anymore because he is not in school anymore.

“Pagkarating ko po galing sa school, kung nag-e-English pa rin po ako, sasabihin ho nila na ‘Uy, nasa bahay ka na, wala ka na sa school, mag-Tagalog ka naman’ so parang dun po ako nasanay sa Tagalog po,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Darren also revealed the fame he have gained when he joined “The Voice Kids.” As he says, it have given him a lot of attention. But then, he was told by his father to remain humble and to keep on smiling. But then, he got no problem with it.  “Pero okay lang po sa akin kasi masaya naman po [ako] ‘pag may nakikipicture po,” he said. In addition, he is still getting used to the fame he is having now.

Darren is also thankful to his parents who have been very supportive and did a lot of sacrifices for him. But then, Darren is only with his dad now which is also set to go back in Canada soon. He will be left then in his other relatives.

He also revealed that his first goal when he joined “The Voice Kids” was just to be in the semi-finals. It was a great surprise and blessing to him when he made it to top 6 and even made it in top 4 finalist. He also said that he is very happy for Lyca Gairanod who won the said competition. According to him, he did not felt much hurt when he loss. What he just said is that , Dapat expect the unexpected” to avoid getting hurt by false hopes.

Indeed, Darren is really good and a super talented kid.
